Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico with a family that was devoted to music. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, boleros from the past, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos as well opera and dramatic performances. When she was a child, her mother would sing with her, she started more serious singing lessons at the age of 16, under the direction of the renowned Mexican Tenor FlavioBecerra. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, and a young professional, she was a part of numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After moving into the United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2002 she moved to southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Ana is involved in a variety of local initiatives, both as a teacher and performer, because of her enthusiasm for music and arts. Ana is also an ex-member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will inspire a love, especially for the young generation, for keeping this music in the present.
